Remote working: Work files

SLMS Sync & Share service

If your have been migrated to SLMS Sync & Share service you can access your files on your N: (personal drive), S: (group drive) or P: (temporary area) drives offsite.

Scenario 1: You have a work computer set up with Windows 7 and the SLMS desktop

Option 1: Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection
  • Simply make a VPN connection and then access your N:, S: and P: drives as you would on site
Option 2: Map your Sync & Share network drives over a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection

Scenario 2: You use your own (Windows, Apple Mac or Linux) computer

Option 1: Remotely connect to your work SLMS desktop computer  (Remote Desktop Protocol RDP over Virtual Private Network (VPN))

gives access all your work programs, files and network resources - just as though you were at your computer at work

Option 2: Map your Sync & Share network drives over a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection

gives access to your work files but you use programs installed on your home/offsite computer

Option 3: Map your Sync & Share network drives within a Windows Terminal Service (WTS) session

enables you to map your Sync & Share drives on WTS and to use the software provided on WTS
