Logging On and Accessing Applications
Log into the Desktop@UCL Anywhere service by entering your UCL UserID and password. Once you have logged in you will see the following screen, known as the Citrix Receiver. From here you can access your Apps and add and remove these from your Citrix Receiver
The screen below shows the Citrix Receiver when you log in for the first time. By clicking the + button, a start menu will appear allowing you to select the Apps you require.
From here you can access your Apps and by clicking the + button, the start menu will appear allowing you to select the Apps you require. Apps are listed under the A-Z menu with the exception of Microsoft Office Apps which are under Microsoft Office 2013 and internet browsers which can be found under Browsers.
1. Add Apps to the Citrix Receiver by clicking on the App in the start menu
2. This will now appear on your Citrix Receiver
3. Launch the App by clicking on the icon on the Citrix Receiver
1. Hover your cursor over the top left of the Apps’ icon
2. A white cross will now appear
3. Click the cross button to remove the app.
To access your files click the + button and then go to File Explorer > File Explorer - APP
You will then be able to access your Windows filestore (N:) and any shared drives. You will also be able to access your local hard drive which can be found under the Other section.
When accessing your local hard drive, you will see the following security message. Select ‘Permit all access’. This option allows you to access files stored on the local computer from the Desktop@UCL Anywhere service.
Searching for Applications
You can search for Apps by using the search functionality located in the top right hand corner of the screen. From here you can click on the application you are searching for and this will be added to your Citrix Receiver.
