Purpose and Mission

Broadly defined, the aims of the International Public Policy Review are;

  • To promote interdisciplinary work in international relations and public policy;
  • To provide a platform for first publication, particularly for post-graduate writing;
  • To stimulate fruitful and forward-looking debate on issues related to global governance and international public policy.

Aside from serving as an important academic forum for policy scholarship, the IPPR has two other goals. First, it is designed to be an effective research tool for practicing policymakers and students of international public policy. Second, it provides opportunities for junior scholars and team members to develop their own editing and writing skills. Accordingly the team seek to create a formal and informal online presence in the shape or commentary, debate, interview and blogging.

The mission of the Review is to be the premier research resource for students, academics and decision makers within the growing field of international public policy. The latter is broadly defined as pertaining to all areas of governance and public policy that are either international or strongly affected by international factors.
