Our one year blended course is designed around the needs of professional optometrists and leads to a College of Optometrists professional qualification. Whilst the majority of the course is delivered online, it also includes two face-to-face study days at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

The programme provides optometrists with the skills to confidently diagnose ocular hypertension (OHT) and to make preliminary diagnoses of chronic open angle glaucoma (COAG) without supervision. It further develops skills in detecting change and decision-making in at risk patients.

Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology is the most productive eye research institute and hospital partnership in the world. This unique partnership is key to us being able to deliver the clinical requirements set out by the College of Optometrists to achieve the Higher Level Professional Certificate in Glaucoma.
