Disordered Visual Processing
The eye is only the beginning of the visual pathway and several of our researchers are investigating the eye and brain to more fully explain how we see. We are particularly interested in how the brain responds to impaired input secondary to retinal damage and what steps might be taken to retrain the brain to help patients see better. Due in part to our work here it is becoming clearer that patients with cerebral disorders may actually have altered visual processing as well as the more commonly recognised manifestations of disease.
