Zellweger Syndrome

Medline NLM definition: A rare, autosomal recessive congenital syndrome of multiple abnormalities. Some of the principal characteristics are cerebral dysfunction, defective myelinization, craniofacial abnormalities, renal cysts, hepatomegaly, and biliary dysgenesis. Absence of liver and kidney peroxisomes is the underlying basic defect.
