Book locations / Classification scheme

In the Queen Square Library, print books are shelved together by subject. Some of the shelf locations may be familiar to you from other medical libraries, as we mostly use the popular NLM classification scheme. However, due to the specialist nature of our collection, we also need to use some tweaks, incorporating parts of the Wessex classification scheme (e.g. WLM for books about neuropsychology) and making some modifications to NLM (e.g. we shelve books about neuropharmacology at pharmacology (QV) and books about neurosurgery at surgery (WO)). Please ask at the desk if you cannot find what you need.

Please also remember that UCL Library Services now has an 'e-first' policy, and will purchase an e-books in preference to print, where one is available. Always check Explore (the library catalogue) for a full picture of the UCL collections.
