“No man is an island”, similarly action selection depends strongly on contextual information. Indeed, our brain seems to rely upon statistically relevant features of the environment (e.g. regularities) to predict the best action to be taken. My general interest concerns understanding the neuronal basis for action selection in humans, using a combination of psychophysics, fMRI and TMS. In particular, I am interested in how prior information affects the processes implied in action selection, and where prior information is encoded.
