First major exhibition to explore BSE and its impact opens at Hayward Gallery

24 February 2015

One of the major themes of the new exhibition, History Is Now: 7 Artists Take On Britain, is the BSE crisis.

This section of the exhibition was curated by Turner Prize nominee Roger Hiorns, assisted by the MRC Prion Unit at UCL.

There is also a video of Professor Collinge talking about BSE, interviewed by the leading broadcaster Sheila Dillon, as an exhibit.

Supported by a People Award from the Wellcome Trust, Hiorns provides an artistic exploration of the disease and its human equivalent, variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), looking at how these crises arose and key milestones in their developments, as well as their lasting impact.

The exhibition runs until 26 April 2015 at the Hayward Gallery.
