Guitar and banjo. Matheus Ferrero

Join the Music Education Special Interest Group for the Inner Vision Orchestra film, a seminar about blind musicians, and their musical participation.

This orchestra is an ensemble of blind musicians united by Indian-born and London-based multi-instrumentalist Baluji Shrivastav. Baluji believes that "blindness is not a disability".

This seminar will look at the musicians' lives from a sociological perspective by exploring issues of disability, self-identity and the perspectives of members of this unique ensemble in relation to matters of empowerment and marginalisation.

It will be followed by a screening of a film about the orchestra; the aims and process of creating it will be discussed too. The seminar is free to attend and everyone is welcome; no need to register.
