The Centre for Educational Neuroscience (CEN) was formed in 2008. It is a University-led research centre, combining the expertise of researchers in child development, neuroscience, and education at three world leading universities, Birkbeck, UCL Institute of Education, and University College London.

Together our objective is to develop this emerging discipline, using our combined strength in neuroscience, child development, psychology, and education research and its applications to education practise to establish a dialogue between researchers and educationalists to further translations of research into practise to improve education and well-being across the lifespan.
