Marie Clay Professional Learning Fund bursaries
Marie Clay (1926-2007), the founder of Reading Recovery, had a passionate belief in the potential of 'ordinary' teachers to achieve extraordinary things through professional learning.
In her honour we established the Marie Clay Professional Learning Fund. This provides bursaries, up to a total of £2,000 annually, to enable Reading Recovery teachers or teacher leaders to attend national or international professional development events.
To date, 68 Reading Recovery teachers and five Reading Recovery teacher leaders have benefited from participation in literacy-based conferences around the world.
