I am a lecturer in the Department of Information Studies at University College London (UCL), where I teach and do research on topics related to Computer Science. I hold a PhD and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Crete and a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

My main research interests are in the areas of Knowledge Representation, Nonmonotonic Reasoning, Semantic Web and Ambient Intelligence. My current activities concern the study of formal methods for contextual collaborative reasoning in distributed systems, and the development of context-aware applications and Ambient Intelligence systems.

Before joining UCL, I worked as a research fellow at the Individual and Collective Reasoning team (ICR) within the Computer Science and Communications (CSC) rersearch unit of the University of Luxembourg. I have also worked as a research assistant at the Information Systems Lab of the Institute of Computer Science of FO.R.T.H. in Greece. Since 2006, I have been a member of the Hellenic Association for Artificial Intelligence. I have participated in the organizing / program committees of several international conferences on AI-related fields.

Office hours: Available to see UCL students without appointment on Tuesdays from 12.00 to 13.00.
