Support the IIT

We need funding to ensure that our future research leads to new and more effective treatments for millions of people worldwide.

Our work has led to major breakthroughs in immunology. Discover the ways you can support the Institute:

Support our building and equipment

The Pears Building, which will be home to the IIT, will provide the best possible infrastructure for research, training, and clinical delivery, with state-of-the-art lab facilities and teaching space. Gifts of any size can support the new building. There are opportunities to name floors, laboratories or public spaces in the IIT.

Breakthrough discoveries depend on researchers having access to cutting-edge technologies; the discovery that type 1 diabetes is caused by the immune system was possible because a UCL researcher had access to a particular fluorescence microscope.

Today, the work of the IIT remains dependent upon having the very latest and best scientific equipment. Donors can help to fund core equipment, or provide general support that gives flexibility to acquire new technologies as they become available.

Support our people

The IIT will bring together more than 200 researchers – in teams of scientists, academic clinicians, clinical trials specialists, and nurses – to develop and translate new research into new treatments for patients.

Philanthropic gifts can help to support the people who make discoveries happen, from Master’s students and early career researchers, to Fellows, through to Clinical Chairs in priority areas. Donors can choose to support individuals conducting research in a specific disease area of interest, such as cancer, diabetes or HIV.

Support the Director's discretionary fund

The Director’s Discretionary Fund will provide the Director of the IIT with the flexibility to respond to the greatest needs of the Institute, as they arise. Donors to the Fund will be helping to support ongoing research programmes, to fund preclinical trials, travel or conference grants, recruit visiting fellows, and more.
