Applications are invited from candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Have achieved (or are predicted) a first class or upper second class honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent international qualifications or experience).  A MSc is also preferred, though not essential.
  • Our preferred subject areas are Physical Sciences (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics).  Applicants with degrees in Chemistry or Life Sciences must demonstrate strong mathematical skills.
  • A demonstrated interest in medical imaging.

To apply please:

  • Complete an online application form. Please select MRes Medical Imaging from the list of courses advertised. The Programme Code is TMRMEISING01 ('MRes Medical Imaging') for both the three and four year PhD programmes. (Update on the 7th of December: We are aware of a technical issue with the online application form at the moment.  If the issue does not resolve itself before the deadline expires, please register your interest by sending us the requested covering letter and your CV before the deadline.)
  • Prepare a covering letter, which should cover the following:
  (a)   Your motivations for applying to the programme;
  (b)   How your educational background, skills and experience fit the programme;
  (c)   If you are not from a Physical Sciences background, demonstrate that you have strong mathematical skills;
 

(d)   Please select up to five projects which interest you from those set out in Our Research Projects, listed in your order of preference:

      (not applicable if you are applying for a PhD studentship for a named project)

  (e)   Which of our methodological research themes interest you;
  (f)   Which of our clinical research themes interest you.

Interviews are scheduled for 15th and 16th February 2015.
