Biography: Shivani is a Teaching Fellow with IGH on the intercalated BSc in Global Health as well as the Global Health MSc. In June 2014 she will be running the Global Health stream of the Global Citizenship summer school program as a part of the UCL Grand Challenges. She is a doctoral candidate who completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Waterloo, Canada in the field of political science. While working in Mumbai on a CIDA funded research term with the Tata Institute of Social Science she became interested in issues relating to urban health and migration. In September of 2010 she enrolled as a full time PhD student with IGH, with her research examining issues of decision making and autonomy amongst female slum migrants in Mumbai, with focus on regional and religious differences. Along with teaching she is in the final stages of writing her thesis.
