Biography: Mary joined IGH in March 2012 to look after the financial management and administration of research grants in the department. She has a BSc in Fisheries from the University of the Philippines and has worked as a research assistant in the field of post-harvest technology, agriculture and sustainable development. She then received a scholarship from the Asian Development Bank to pursue a masters in Food Engineering at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok in 2003-2005. She then worked as a research assistant, unit coordinator and project manager of several Asia-wide projects funded by the Swedish International Development Agency, Asian Development Bank and the Canadian International Development Research Centre. She was based in Bangkok until 2010 and she then relocated to the UK and worked as project administrator at Brunel University for two years prior to joining UCL.

Outside work, Mary is a keen fundraiser, an avid cyclist and enjoys designing and making jewellery.
