Somalia National Micronutrient and Anthropometric Nutrition Survey
This project aimed to assess the micronutrient status of the population of Somalia, there by providing additional information to inform the ongoing humanitarian response in this conflict-affected country.
During 2009, a national household survey was conducted within the three zones of Somalia and anthropometric and biological indicators of nutritional status were collected. The data has been subject to initial analysis and a report is available here.
This project was funded by the Food Security and Nutrition Analysis Unit of the UN FAO and conducted in collaboration with this agency, UNICEF, WHO and other humanitarian organisations working in Somalia.
Find our more about the results of the survey and read the report on the FSNAU project page.
