Early Childhood Development in Jamaica

1. Long
term follow up of the development of low birth weight term babies at 6 years of
age. This is a cohort of 100 low birth weight term babies who have been
followed since birth. We assessed their cognitive,
language and motor development and growth at 6 years of age.
2. Follow
up of a cohort of children who were stunted in early childhood and participated
in intervention. We are planning to re-assess the social function and economic
performance of this cohort at 23 years of age.

effect of intervention on the development of children in residential care.
