Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infants (MAMI)
A retrospective review of the current field management of moderately and severely malnourished infants under six months of age.
The aim of the MAMI Project was to investigate the management of
acutely malnourished infants under six months of age (infants <6m)
in emergency programmes, in order to improve practice by contributing
to evidence-based, better practice guidelines. It was conducted by the Nutrition in Crisis
Research Group and has formed the foundation for ongoing work on improving the diagnosis and mangement of acute malnutrition in this vulnerable age group.
This project was funded by the UN Interagency Standing Committee Global Nutrition Cluster.
