Interventions for gender-based violence in India

Congratulations to David Osrin who recently secured MRC Public health Intervention funding for his work on interventions for gender-based violence in India.

One third of women worldwide have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) and/or non-partner sexual violence. In India, this figure rises to 33-60% of women. David Osrin will lead a study to scope interventions for gender based violence in informal settlements in Mumbai. The team will build upon an established programme for the prevention of violence against women and children led by the Mumbai-based organisation SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action).
