Institute for Global Health receives Athena Swan Silver Award
17 May 2018
The IGH is delighted to have been awarded a Silver award in the latest round of Athena Swan announcements. A Silver award is a recognition of IGH’s commitment to gender equality and to promotion of diversity, inclusion and equality more generally.
Professor Sarah Hawkes of the Centre for Gender and Global Health in IGH, and chair of the Athena Swan team in IGH, said “Our Silver award reflects not only our commitment to gender equality but also the impact we have had on making IGH a fairer place for everyone since our Bronze award in 2014. We are really delighted to have our hard work in this area recognised, and hope that we can continue to ensure that IGH moves forward on tackling inequalities in all domains – so that we can truly be an Institute that not only promotes equality, respect and inclusivity in the research we do, but also in IGH itself”.
