Our Centre aims to promote methodological excellence in the conduct of pragmatic trials in global health.
Pragmatic trials inform clinical or policy decisions by providing evidence about the effectiveness of interventions in real-world community or clinical settings. We partner with Trial Units and researchers working on complex interventions in a wide range of areas, including infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health and nutrition, and the prevention of violence against women. We aim to promote innovation in all areas of global health trials, including their design, conduct, analysis, as well as the use of quantitative and qualitative data in the development phase of trials and process evaluation.
Strategic Priorities
- To offer leadership and guidance, and to promote methodological excellence for pragmatic global health trials
- To provide a focal point for sharing experience and best practice and for pooling of resources and training across trials
- To interact and share expertise with the UCL Institute for Clinical Trials and Methodology, and with other units globally
- To develop education and postgraduate training in global health trials
