Student support and opportunities

Any student who studies at UCL will benefit from a brilliant education at one of the world's best universities, as well as all the experiences of studying right in the centre of London. However, there is so much more on offer than simply attending one of their globally recognised programmes. Below is a list of some of the additional benefits a student can expect on their arrival:

UCLU Library

With over two million books and subscriptions to over 12,000 journals in a combination of electronic and print formats,UCL Library Services provides access to a vast range of resources across all degree subjects. Facilities include a main library and 15 specialist libraries, with valuable and historic material housed in Special Collections.

Events, lectures and exhibitions

UCL offers a thriving and dynamic academic community, with events, lectures and exhibitions taking place all year round, including our popular Lunch Hour Lecture series which provides an opportunity for anyone to sample the exceptional research work taking place at UCL, in bite sized chunks. UCLU

UCLU is the students' union for all UCL students.  Since 1893 they have been campaigning for a better UCL, providing great services and opportunities to it's 40,000+ members.

UCLU Services are there to ensure you have a wide range of activities to choose from, whether you want to boost your skills, join a club, play sports, volunteer in the community, be the voice of your fellow students, get involved in a campaign, go to a club or comedy night…or just 'Give it a Go'. UCLU also provide a Rights and Advice Centre for when you need information or advice on any issue you might encounter, as well as a JobShop service to help you find part-time work while you are studying.

Student support and wellbeing

Moving to a new country or UK environment to commence your studies can be both an exciting and challenging experience. To assist you as much as possible with settling into the UCL community, UCL's Student Support Wellbeing team provide all students with a wealth of information to enhance your arrival. 

Whether seeking advice on immigration/visas, planning accommodation needs or you would like to discuss any disability requirements, UCL's Student Support Wellbeing teams services are available to you every step of the way.
