Mapping Incorrect Beliefs About Cancer IBAC

Mapping incorrect causal beliefs about cancer: the IBAC study

We already know a lot about public awareness of genuine risk factors. However, much less is known about incorrect beliefs about what causes cancer. This is important as people may ignore actual risky behaviours in favour or changing behaviours that are not health protective. This project aimed to develop an online tool to identify the false beliefs people hold about the causes of cancer and to establish the population prevalence of these beliefs. Results of this project will be published shortly.
