Sample size estimation and power calculations

24th May, 2018: This one day course gives the basics of sample size estimation. It will be of use to those embarking on a research project and who are perhaps trying to complete ethics and grant application forms. Both precision and power estimation approaches are covered.

ANOVA/GLMs with SPSS

5th June, 2018: This one-day course will introduce delegates to the basic principles of ANOVA, and how to choose, run, interpret, and report a variety of ANOVA models. The course takes a hands-on approach to learning, with SPSS software used for demonstration and practice throughout.

Chi-square and Beyond for 2x2 Tables

Introduction to Regression Analysis

20th-21st June, 2018: This course provides an overview of different regression types and details the application of multiple linear regression. Day one of the course focuses on the theory behind regression analysis, in particular linear regression, and covers the formulation, interpretation and validation of linear regression models. A second, optional day allows delegates hands-on use of a statistical package (SPSS) to see how the theory can be applied to answer a specific research question.

Paediatric Tracheostomy Course for Speech and Language Therapists

This two day course is aimed at clinicians working with children with tracheostomies in both the hospital and community setting. Childhood visual impairment and mental health: science into practice

The psychological wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people with visual impairment and their families have been greatly neglected. Two main charities, the Mary Kitzinger Trust and Royal Society for Blind Children, have come together with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and University College London to host this conference. Together with the contributors and participants, we hope to spearhead important changes to improve understanding and meeting needs better.

Paediatric Rheumatology Course

The aim of the course is to provide an update in the diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of children with rheumatological diseases and to encourage the development of shared clinical networks. British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngology Annual Meeting

The John Evans lecture will be delivered by the world renowned Paediatric ENT Surgeon Professor Robin Cotton from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and promises to continue the high standards of teaching and research from BAPO.
