Computing facilities
UCL Cluster
There are 8 PCs on the UCL network running central managed Windows desktops. UCL/ICH students and staff can access Cluster WTS (Windows Terminal Server) from these computers. These are available for use by all UCL users with a UCL username and password.
The UCL networked computers are connected to one of two printers located in the cluster. UCL printing charge applies. For more information on printing please see the following webpage: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/workrooms/printing
PCs for accessing UCL ejournals and databases
There are 4 dedicated computers in the library which give GOSH staff and other library members access to the UCL electronic journals and databases. Library users will need a library barcode and a 4 digits PIN number to log in to these machines.
Most the UCL electronic journals are available on these machines as well as the UCL databases. Journals titles can be browsed or searched.
Follow this link to see the available journals: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/Library/walkin/wejtitle.shtml
and this link to see the available databases:http://www.ucl.ac.uk/Library/walkin/dbase.shtml
Journal articles can be printed or saved on a USB stick. If you are printing out from these terminals you will be charged 5p per page.
GOSH Network PCs
There are five PCs in the library linked to the GOSH network. These are for GOSH staff only and require a GOSH computing account login. The GOSH PCs are connected to a printer.
Library catalogue terminal
There is one terminal in the PC cluster area which links to the library catalogue only. Any library user may access this computer. The library catalogue is also available via the Internet
Eduroam
UCL's wireless network (Eduroam) is available to UCL users throughout the library. See the following website for instructions: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/wireless
