Opening hours
Staffed hours:
9.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday
The facility is open from 8am to 10:30pm, 7 days a week to ICH and GOS users. However anyone using the facility out of the normal working hours shown above must follow the appropriate lone worker rules.
For ICH staff see the ICH intranet Lone Working policy. GOSH staff should refer to their own policy for lone working.
Charges for confocal microscopy
£50 per hour of training by Bertrand Vernay
£50 per hour for operation by Bertrand Vernay
£20 per hour for operation by user
£10 per hour for overnight time-lapse experiments
Booking
The microscopes can be booked by users via our online booking system. There is a minimum of 30 minutes booking slot and additional time after that will be charged in 30 minutes increments.
An account code, IDT or purchase order, as appropriate, must be supplied at the time of booking.
Cancellation
Booking can be cancelled up to 6 hours beforehand without charge.
Cancellations less than 6 hours ahead will be charged at full cost
unless taken up by another user or for a reason beyond the scientist
control (subject to the facility manager agreement).
Health and Safety
All users must read the risk assessment and the area code of practice for the confocal facility before using the facility.
