Notes: The information below gives the detailed specifications for each area and the full daily hire rate for the period August 2003 - July 2004 inclusive. Certain groups may qualify for discounted rates, and details are available on request. The room rate includes the cost of most audiovisual equipment (except where equipment needs to be hired in), but does not include technical assistance except in the case of the Kennedy Lecture Theatre. Please note that restrictions on the consumption of food and drink apply in certain rooms, and these are clearly indicated below.

Kennedy Lecture Theatre The Kennedy Lecture Theatre is tiered and seats 286. The front half of the theatre is gently sloped, with the rear half steeply raked, a natural division allowing the auditorium to be used for smaller groups when necessary. The theatre is fitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment including data projection, and there is wheelchair access with room for a maximum of eight wheelchairs. The lecture theatre opens directly onto the Balcony. Capacity: Seats 285 Food and Beverage: None permitted Special Features: Raked seating, writing tablets on all seats, disabled access, accommodation for a max. of eight wheelchairs by prior arrangement
Leolin Price Lecture Theatre	This lecture theatre is gently raked and seats a maximum of 70. It is a small, intimate room, making it suitable for groups as small as 20-30. The Leolin Price Lecture Theatre is situated below the Kennedy Lecture Theatre , and opens directly onto the Winter Garden . There is wheelchair access and a maximum of three wheelchairs can be accommodated by prior arrangement. Capacity: Seats 70 Food and Beverage: None permitted Special Features: Raked seating, writing tablets on all seats, disabled access, accommodation for a max. of three wheelchairs by prior arrangement
Winter Garden The Winter Garden is an open plan area with a slatefloor and sculpture. Connected to the Balcony by a staircase, it is ideal for exhibitions and catering functions. The Winter Garden is below the Balcony, and gives access to the Leolin Price Lecture Theatre and Lower Ground Seminar Room (see Levinsky Room ). There are cloakroom facilities at one end, with lifts to the other floors nearby. Capacity: Accommodates 200 standing, 80 seated Food and Beverage: No restrictions Special Features: Open area with water feature, slate floor. Suitable for exhibitions, catering functions. Lavatories, cloakroom and lifts are adjacent.
	Balcony The Balcony is a broad, open concourse close to the Institute's main reception. It is sufficiently large to accommodate events such as receptions, buffets, trade exhibitions and poster displays. For large events, it may be used in conjunction with the Winter Garden which it overlooks and to which it is connected by a flight of stairs. The Balcony forms the foyer to the Kennedy Lecture Theatre and is therefore also ideal for refreshments and registration. There is an in-built registration desk, and lifts to other floors are nearby. Capacity: Accommodates 200 standing Food and Beverage: No restrictions Special Features: Open area with registration desk, polished wood floor. Easy access from main reception. Lifts adjacent.
Levinsky Room The Levinsky Room is a bright carpeted room suitable for lectures, workshops and meetings. There is a circulation area outside of the room, suitable for buffets and receptions. Capacity: Accommodates 40 theatre style, 20 board room style Food and Beverage: No restrictions Special Features: Flat floor carpeted, suitable for teaching, meetings. Other Meeting Rooms Philip Ullmann Rooms and Lower Ground Seminar Rooms These rooms are located close to the main conference facilities, making them ideal for small group teaching and meetings, and for exhibitions if 'overflow' space is required. The rooms can be partitioned for smaller functions.
