Notes: The information below gives the detailed specifications for each area and the full daily hire rate for the period August 2003 - July 2004 inclusive. Certain groups may qualify for discounted rates, and details are available on request. The room rate includes the cost of most audiovisual equipment (except where equipment needs to be hired in), but does not include technical assistance except in the case of the Kennedy Lecture Theatre. Please note that restrictions on the consumption of food and drink apply in certain rooms, and these are clearly indicated below.

Kennedy Lecture Theatre

The Kennedy Lecture Theatre is tiered and seats 286.

The front half of the theatre is gently sloped, with the rear half steeply raked, a natural division allowing the auditorium to be used for smaller groups when necessary.

The theatre is fitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment including data projection, and there is wheelchair access with room for a maximum of eight wheelchairs.

The lecture theatre opens directly onto the Balcony.

Leolin Price Lecture Theatre

Winter Garden


The Winter Garden is an open plan area with a slatefloor and sculpture. Connected to the Balcony by a staircase, it is ideal for exhibitions and catering functions.

Balcony


The Balcony is a broad, open concourse close to the Institute's main reception. It is sufficiently large to accommodate events such as receptions, buffets, trade exhibitions and poster displays. For large events, it may be used in conjunction with the

The Levinsky Room is a bright carpeted room suitable for lectures, workshops and meetings.

Flat floor carpeted, suitable for teaching, meetings.

Other Meeting Rooms

Philip Ullmann Rooms and Lower Ground Seminar Rooms
These rooms are located close to the main conference facilities, making them ideal for small group teaching and meetings, and for exhibitions if 'overflow' space is required.

The rooms can be partitioned for smaller functions.
