Rheumatology
Welcome to the website for the rheumatology unit at the UCL Institute of Child Health, which is part of the infection and immunity theme.
We aim to improve the understanding of rheumatic diseases that occur in childhood and adolescence with a focus on cradle to grave care enabled by our collaboration with the Adolescent and Adult Rheumatologists in the UCL department of medicine. Research undertaken in the unit also concentrates on furthering our understanding of the pathogenesis of these diseases and the development of new therapeutic interventions. This bench to bedside approach is enabled through collaborations with the rheumatology departments in Great Ormond Street and University College Hospitals and the transitional care they provide our patients.
