PTPNET

Protein Tyrosine Phosphatases: Structure, Regulation and Biological Function
PTPNET
is a new FP6-funded, Marie Curie Research Training Network. It includes
twelve research teams from 9 countries, each individually active in the
field of PTP enzymes, phosphotyrosine signalling, or associated
disciplines. The Network was established in order to promote and
accelerate research into this significant group of enzymes, and at the
same time promote high quality training in this emerging field within
Europe. The Network is being coordinated from University College London,
London, UK.
The research programme
incorporates laboratories in academia and in the biotechnology industry
and covers several integrated disciplines. We have four Task groupsĀ
focussed on research into structural biology, protein regulation, tissue
and developmental function, and bioinformatics. The Network will employ
nine PhD students and three postdoctoral fellows to carry out a wide
range of projects. These researchers will be given exceptional training
opportunities in research and transferable skills. They will also gain
invaluable experience from working within a highly collaborative
Network, with opportunities to participate in dedicated workshops and to
travel on research secondments to other Network teams.
You will see web links on your left, where details can be found concerning the overall project objectives, details about each partner's research background, our recent publications and recent news.
