Opportunities

Courses

The unit organises a one week course in late February / early March which focuses on diverse aspects of Paediatric Nephrology and Urology.  Recent courses have included numerous high quality national and international speakers and the course makes full use of the prestigious state-of-the-art facilities at the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH).  Details of the next course are available from ICH Events.

We are also actively involved in the yearly European Nephrogenesis Workshop which brings together basic scientists and clinicians interested in all aspects of kidney development.  The workshop is held at the ICH in alternate years.

Training Opportunities

The unit is dedicated to high quality research in diverse aspects of Nephrology and Urology hence there are frequent opportunities for both scientists and clinicians in both new and existing projects.  These positions are advertised in the scientific press and within UCL.  For general enquiries, please contact the Head of Unit.

In addition, we encourage both UK and overseas visitors to arrange academic and/or clinical attachments at the UCL Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.  Attachment places are limited and highly popular; in the first instance, therefore, potential visitors should apply to the Unit Administrator for an application form to determine the aims, maximise the benefits and facilitate co-ordination of their attachments.

Please visit the jobs section of our website for the latest ICH job and PhD vacancies.
