Biography

Chloe Parkin has been at the MRC Centre of Epidemiology for Child Health within UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH) since 2008. Based in the Centre for Policy Research headed up by Professor Catherine
Law, her research interests are in health inequalities and the use of research
in shaping public policy relating to child health.

In addition to her own research activities, Chloe also contributes to the work of the Children's Policy Research Unit, led by ICH, through monitoring Government policy activity and supporting its response mode. She also supports Professor Law in the management and oversight of her research projects.

Prior to this Chloe was Head of Policy and
Communications at the UK Faculty of Public Health for six years. Here, she held a
wide portfolio of responsibilities which gave her a broad insight into UK
public health policy and structures.

Chloe’s academic background is in the humanities. She has a
PhD in eighteenth-century French medical and cultural history from the University of Warwick.
