Summary:

The purpose of the study is to develop risk prediction models to determine whether children injured through maltreatment, assault, or self-harm are at increased risk of subsequent adverse health outcomes compared to children injured by accident or children in the general population. Such prognostic information is required to determine whether these children represent high risk groups who might benefit from targeted interventions in the community to prevent further harm.

Prior to my PhD, I worked as a medical statistician for Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, my main responsibilities being to provide statistical support to researchers within the Trust as well as introductory and intermediate courses for researchers at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and medical students at he University of Manchester. In 2011, I took a year's sabbatical to work within INSERM team U970 in Paris, collating and analysing data for the Reference Values for Central Blood Pressure Collaboration. My research interests are in meta-analysis and analysis in survival and repeated measures data.
