Professional Clinical Training

Professional Training in Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology

The Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Unit and the Clinical Neuropsychology team offer a professional MSc programme in Clinical and Applied Paediatric Neuropsychology.  The training programme can be accessed via two routes, the clinical route or the applied route. The clinical route is for professionally qualified Clinical and Educational Psychologists (as recognised by the British Psychological Society, BPS) who want to train further in the specialist field of Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology. The applied route is for post-graduates who are not qualified clinical or educational psychologists but who wish to pursue a training in the scientific dimensions of paediatric neuropsychology practice. Students on the applied and clinical route attend the same teaching elements and examinations.

The Masters programme can lead to an MSc or post-graduate Diploma. The applied route is full-time over one year and the clinical route can be taken full-time or on a part-time basis over two years. The programme is organised into eight core taught modules. In addition students who want to obtain the MSc qualification complete a module in advanced research methods and statistics and a supervised research project.

The 3rd UK Paediatric Neuropsychology Symposium will take place at ICH in April 2012.  See http://www.ucl.ac.uk/neuropsych/InternationalSymposia  for further information.
