The BDRC laboratories

The BDRC central labs are based on the third floor of the Institute’s main building (see diagram). General laboratories are provided for approximately 65 research staff within three of the BDRC’s key units: Molecular Medicine, Neural Development and Developmental Biology. Additionally, the space contains four shared labs dedicated to particular functions: (i) Histology lab, providing facilities for tissue embedding, and wax, cryostat and vibratome sectioning; (ii) Tissue culture lab, as part of a suite of rooms offering dedicated facilities for primary, stem cell and standard tissue culture; (iii) Microscopy lab offering high quality fluorescence and bright field photomicroscopy, linked to the confocal suite elsewhere in ICH; (iv) Time-lapse imaging lab, providing live imaging facilities for cellular studies.
