CHRAT summer studentship
Are you interested in undertaking a short research project this summer?
The Trustees of the Child Health Research Appeal Trust have decided to continue the Summer Vacation Studentship Scheme for a further year. Up to six studentships will be available for undergraduate students studying science or medicine with maintenance support of £190 per week for a period of up to eight weeks. Applicants must be at least in their second undergraduate year of study and preference will be given to applicants who do not yet have any research experience and would therefore, particularly benefit from working on a summer project.
These are research-based placements and it is not possible to fund the costs of overseas visits. The projects must be based entirely in the UCL Institute of Child Health.
The Institute has 24 academic units which are grouped under eight research themes. Our laboratories are modern and well equipped and we also have excellent facilities for those carrying out research in non-laboratory subjects. You can find out more about the research carried out in the various units on our website.
The Institute is located in Guilford Street and the nearest tube station is Russell Square (Piccadilly Line).
If you wish to be considered for a summer vacation studentship for work to be carried out in the Institute of Child Health, please send an electronic copy of your curriculum vitae with a covering letter indicating the academic unit that interests you most to ICH.Chratsum@ucl.ac.uk. Your application will be forwarded to the Head of the appropriate Unit for further consideration.
The closing date for applications is Friday 5 April 2013.
You may wish, in the meantime, to see reports provided by previous summer students.
