New Students

A new year, a new crop of graduate students have arrived at the Institute of Archaeology. As usual, a few promising scholars in archaeo-metallurgy have received funding from IAMS.

This year, we are proud to welcome Siran Liu who will be conducting research on gold and silver production during China's Tang Dynasty between the 7th and 10th centuries AD.

In Addition, we would like to welcome the Institute of Archaeology's newest lecturer in archaeometry, Professor Ian Freestone. While Professor Freestone is widely respected in the field of glass production, his past work experience has often involved a wide range of projects on metallurgy. He will be a great addition to UCL's team archaeological science team!
