An experimental training course on prehistoric metallurgy will be taught by Dr. Simon Timberlake at the Butser Ancient Farm, near Petersfield, Hampshire UK.
This
course will encompass both practical and theoretical aspects of
experimental archaeology for the purpose of examining the production of
metal in the Bronze Age. The attendees will gain insightful knowledge
and experience in the construction, operation, and scientific recording
of smelting hearths for the production of both copper and tin.
