New IHR Appointment

Dr Virginia Mantouvalou joined UCL in September 2011 as a Co-Director of the Human Rights Institute and Lecturer in Law. She is the author of Debating Social Rights (with Conor Gearty, Hart, 2011), as well as articles, book chapters and essays in human rights, labour law and European law.
She holds a PhD in Law from the London School of Economics, an LLM in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and an LLB from the University of Athens.
Before joining UCL, Virginia was
Senior Lecturer in Law and Deputy Director of the Centre for European Law and
Integration at the University of Leicester.
In 2010 she was a Visiting Scholar at Georgetown University Law Centre in Washington DC. Virginia has also worked as a Consultant for the International Labour Organisation.
