ResourceLink freezes when trying to get to log on screen
After clicking on the database the following box may appear and then freeze:
The cause of this may be due to a ResourceLink installation script being unable to run because the current computer operator does not have administrator rights to the computer. To resolve this, please speak to your computer rep who will be able to give you administrator rights. Once the admin rights are in place you may be asked to perform an installation. Click through to install the updates. If you have any problems with the any part of the installation, please get in contact with the HR Information Office.
If you already have administrator rights on your computer then it the problem may be with the security stettings on you internet browser. Please speak to your computer rep for help on re-adjusting your settings.
Alternatively, the box may include a small red 'x' on a white background.
This is caused by a conflict between Macromedia Flash software. If you have recently installed Flash (version 8) it overwrites the Flash files needed for ResourceLink. Please speak to the Information Office or if outside of HR, your Computer Rep.
ResourceLink Does Not Have Same Appearance
When logging into ResourceLink, the appearance may look like the following:
This again is due to your username not having admin rights on the current computer, therefore not allowing certain installation scripts to be run. Please speak to your computer rep so that they can arrange for admin rights to be granted to you.
366 - SQL error
When logging in you may encounter the following error message just before you get to the log-in screen:
There can be two reasons why this error message occurs. The first reason could be down to you picking the wrong database (Read Only instead of Live). Please check that you picked the correct one.
The second reason that it might occur could be that the database is not available. If Payroll is being run then Live will be unavailable and alternatively, Read Only is unavailable at all other times (although this won't be ready as soon as Live goes down). Also, if there are any major problems with ResourceLink, again Live will be unavailable. Please check that you have had the ResourceLink emails letting you know that the database is unavailable. If you have not received any of the emails then please get in contact with the HR Information Office.
When accessing ResourceLink through the staff WTS, you may find that you are unable to reach the login page. This occurs when you do not have access to the WTS W: drive (adcom), which is needed to install the "piv" files for ResourceLink. Please contact the HR Information Office who will be able to request user permission for this drive
Invalid Login Attempt
When attempting to log into ResourceLink you may receive the following meesage:
This message will be displayed if you have entered either your username or password incorrectly. Please re-enter both details again. If the problem persists then please contact the HR Information Office to reset the password.
Disabled/Dormancy Period
If an account is unused for more than 60 days or the account has been suspended, then you may receive this error message:
To reactivate the account please get in contact with the HR Information Office who will be able to reset the dormancy period.
