HR Payroll Services

Welcome to Payroll Services, which is part of Human Resources and one of the University's central administrative support services. Our main aim is to pay accurately and on time within statutory and contractual regulations. We aim to provide a payroll service that is customer focused and that utilises technology wherever possible. UCL has provided all employees with access to their payslip electronically. Employees can also change their personal details through using MyView - UCL's self service application. See further information about payslips.

Our Aim

Our main aim is to pay accurately and on time within statutory and contractual regulations. We aim to provide a payroll service that is customer focused and that utilises technology wherever possible.

UCL Payroll Statistics

• Over £120 million  was paid over by UCL to HMRC in the Last Tax year.
• £77 million – Amount paid over to UCL pension schemes each year.
• 14,000 – Number of individuals records submitted to HMRC each tax year by UCL
• 1500 – Number of P45’s produced each year by UCL
• 14 – Number of people in Payroll Services

Payroll Give As You Earn Statistics

• 1.18% - Number of employees who give charitably through the payroll (saving tax on these amounts)
• We received a Bronze award for Payroll Giving in February 2010.
• Nearly £50,000 was given to Charity by UCL staff through Payroll Give as you Earn in the Last Tax year.

Payroll Team – Activities

• Payroll Services in conjunction with other HR departments take part in site visits, to departments to offer knowledge and support.
• Payroll Services will feature in staff induction procedures, in order to better serve the needs of our customer base
• Payroll Services have established a core set of competencies; these include all members of staff attaining the ECDL qualification and taking part in payroll training annually. This improves our customer service to you, and allows us to pass down relevant and up to date information.
