Servicing Meetings and Committees (Introduction)
Participants:
All staff who are new to servicing meetings and committees.
(Maximum of 12 places)
Pre-requisites:
None
Overview:
This course is intended for participants to:
- understand the purpose of meetings and what makes them effective
- state the role and functions of the minute taker and the chair person, and demonstrate minute taking skills
- develop listening to select and precise information using reported speech
Anticipated learning outcomes:
By the end of this session, you will have explored:
- styles of writing
- purposes of meetings
- effective meetings
- roles of the note-taker
- types of minutes
- barriers to listening
- role and skills of the chairperson
