Introduction to Risk Management

Participants:
This course is for you if you have leadership, management or supervisory responsibility; or anticipate taking this type of responsibility within the coming year and will need to manage risks as part of your role.

Overview:
To help you with managing risk as part of your role, to see risk as something that is ever-present and needs to be understood and, wherever possible, managed to your and the organisation’s advantage. Organisations face and deal with risk on a daily basis. In fact, without risk an organisation would struggle to grow and thrive.

Risk Management is the process which aims to help organisations understand, evaluate and take action on all their risks with a view to increasing the probability of success and reducing the likelihood of failure.

This course has been designed to encourage staff to see risk as something that is ever-present, needs to be understood and, wherever possible, managed to their and the organisation’s advantage. By the end of the course participants will have the confidence and skills to understand and manage risk effectively. It is aimed at those who are new to managing risk or those who would like the opportunity to reflect on how they currently manage risk.
