In order to support UCL's  "You have the Power" initiative to reduce UCL carbon emissions by 10% by 2013 HR, division is working on a number of issues, these include:-

1. Reducing the amount of paper used
2. Raising awareness and reducing the amount of energy used by electrical appliances and lighting
3. Looking at ways to reduce the Environmental impact of our activities by using the framework of
4. Reduce
5. Re-use
6. Recycle

Reduce your household’s carbon footprint try Green energy providers

Off-set the carbon you use if you have a garden plant a tree if you have space, if you have a flat think about a window box or make a donation to an environmental charity eg the Woodland trust or Trees for Cities

Turning off appliances would save 465,000 tonnes of CO2 (£115m/yr)

Wash clothes at 30 degrees saves 98,000 tonnes of CO2

A 5 minute shower = 35litres of water cut down by 1 minute
