Title: Having a gay old time (2013, UK, 20') and Latecomers (2010, UK, 16')
Type of event: Lunchtime film screening
Overview: A documentary film-maker based at UCL, Rob Eagle will screen Having a gay old time , his latest film about a social group of mature gay men in South London. Three of these men from 66 to 86 years old reflect on both their colourful pasts and busy present-day social diaries, full of travel, theatre and pub gatherings.
Winner of Best Documentary in the No Limits Film Festival 2010, Latecomers , directed by Olivia Humphreys, tells the story of two people who came out later in life. Margaret transitioned at the age of 58. Peter has just told his family he's gay at 53. Do they regret not coming out sooner?
Film-makers and some contributors in the films will be present at the screening for a short Q&A afterward.
This event is open to all UCL staff, students and the general public.
