Title: Is there any place for women in politics?, by Dr Maki Kimura, Teaching fellow in Gender & Politics, UCL
Type of event: lunchtime lecture showcasing UCL research
Overview: Is it really true that women participate in politics less than men? The answer might be 'yes', if we only consider the under-representation of women in formal political institutions such as parliaments. However, the reality is that women have a long history of engaging with politics outside official democratic structures. Examining women's diverse relationship to politics, the talk will explore the ways in which we can build a fairer and more equal society.
This event is open to all UCL staff, students and to the general public.
Date, Time and Venue:
Monday 25 February, 1-2pm, Gustave Tuck lecture theatre, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT. A map can be found here.
