UCL has an excellent provision for training which is provided by the Organisational & Staff Development. Other training at UCL includes IT Training and Support for Staff and the IT Training Drop In Service. UCL staff are expected to undertake at least 3 training events per year.
UCL's dedicated Careers Service provides professional and impartial career management advice for the UCL community and quality recruitment solutions to employers
Sabbatical Leave for Academic Staff
UCL offers an excellent Sabbatical Leave arrangement to help develop academic and research excellence.
In addition to the provisions of this policy, UCL's Gender Equality Scheme provides for one term of sabbatical leave without teaching commitments for research active academics returning from maternity. This provision also applies to staff who are on adoption, long-term sick leave and carers leave.
Study Assistance Scheme - Financial Contribution for Professional Development
UCL's study assistance scheme offers to those studying taught degrees (non-research) and approved courses leading to a professional qualification, including PhD, 50% of course fees (pro-rata for part-time staff) up to £400.00 and a maximum of 8 days' study leave.
UCL staff are entitled to use and borrow materials, access electronic journals and other resources from the various UCL Library sites. Staff also have access to other libraries including the University of London Library at Senate House.
Access to UCL's Language Centre
The Language Centre provides excellent evening courses for UCL staff to learn new languages at a discounted fee.
