SELCS Writing Lab for affiliates

What is it?

The SELCS Writing Lab provides individual writing support via one-to-one tutorials and group workshops with a dedicated team of writing tutors.

Tutors are happy to discuss initial brainstorming, planning, constructing an argument, writing styles, referencing, feedback and anything else connected to academic writing, whether for a first university essay or with an experienced writer who would like a second opinion. Tutors will not comment on the content of an essay or act as proofreaders. It is however important to note that the Writing Lab focuses on English academic writing but can not support writing in other languages or provide English language tuition.

As well individual tutorial sessions, the Writing Lab also runs group workshops on a variety of useful topics, such as planning an essay, making an argument, referencing and plagiarism. These workshops are running now in the first half of term. Whilst many places on the workshops have been booked up, some of are still available and places often become available on the day. You can check availability on the SELCS Writing Lab Twitter page www.ucl.ac.uk/selcs-writing-lab/workshops
